Micah Olson spent most of his childhood as a “desert pygmy,” aka Ironwood staff kid. After earning his bachelors degree in Bible, he completed his masters while he and his wife interned at Faith Baptist Church of Cherokee Road in Newberry Springs. They then interned at a church in Colorado for a couple of years before he became lead pastor at Cornerstone Bible Church in West Point, UT. He and his wife Cheyenne, a gifted pianist and also a desert pygmy, have two children.
Scott Olson grew up in Arizona and graduated from the International Baptist College & Seminary with a degree in church ministries; he is now their director of Mentoring and Recruitment. Prior to returning to IBCS, he served faithfully for 15 years as youth pastor at Northwest Valley Baptist Church in Glendale, AZ, then joined the Ironwood Team for 14 years. While serving as program director of Ironwood’s Broken I Ranch, he specialized in father-son, small group, junior, and adventure camps; he then worked with our Ironwood Institute of Ministry (now Defined) and Ministry Bound programs, investing in young adults interested in learning about and pursuing ministry opportunities. He and his wife Susan have four children and two grandchildren.
