A summer of ministry at a Christian camp can change your life forever. You will experience countless evidences of God working in the lives of young people. If God leads you to a camp this summer, you are participating with Him in changing lives for His glory. It is incredible to think the God of the universe desires to use you to accomplish His perfect will.

How Can I Join the Ironwood Summer Staff Team?

Fill out an application. Make sure your reference’s contact information is correct.

Apply Today

Interview

We will schedule an over the phone interview with you. This will allow us to get to know you as well as give you an opportunity to ask any questions.

Review

Once we receive and review all references, we will be able to make a decision on whether or not Ironwood is an option for you. After this review and if you qualify, we will send you a contract.

Decide

After you receive a contract (via email), you will have 2 weeks to make a decision to accept, decline, or request more time. If you need more time, a new contract will be issued with a new deadline date.

How Can I Serve?

Counselors

Counselors facilitate fun and spearhead spiritual conversations with campers. They spend all week investing directly in the lives of up to 8 young people each week.

Program Assistants

Program Assistants are often veterans who understand the ins and outs of Ironwood’s program. They check cabins, run games, host meals, maintain activities, and invest in counselors.

First Aid Providers

This critical team of two provides basic medical care, manages camper medications, and tends to the health of the team.

Wranglers

Our skilled wrangler team not only trains and cares for our horses, but also, facilitates Horsemanship Camp.

Stores

Our stores crew keeps campers refreshed by stocking our store, serving endless scoops of ice cream, and creating a fellowship focused environment in our coffee shop.

Lifeguards

Campers love cooling off in our lake. Without certified lifeguards, campers would not be able to jump off the high tower, play water basket ball, or go down the 3-story waterslide at 34 mph.

Hospitality

Our detailed hospitality crew eliminates distractions by keeping our expansive desert facility clean. They make sure toilets are clean, sheets are washed, and floors are vacuumed.

Maintenance

Our 67 cabins, 3 meeting rooms, and 3 dining rooms do not fix themselves. Our maintenance team works tirelessly to fix and improve Ironwood facilities.

Grounds

We have a surprising number of trees, a substantial field of grass, and a sprawling web of dirt roads. Our durable grounds crew maintains all of these even during the hottest days of the summer.

Food Service

We believe camp food should be excellent. Our large, trained food service team creates an outstanding dining experience that feeds fellowship.

Office

Without the essential effort of the office team, campers could not register, data would be disorganized, and phones would go unanswered.

Who Can Join the Ironwood Summer Staff Team?

Any high school graduates who is:

  • A born again Christian

  • Striving to serve the Lord

  • Committed to the local church

  • Has a God-honoring reputation

What are the Benefit Options?

Serving on our summer staff is a step of faith. The financial needs are two-fold. First is the cost of getting to Ironwood this summer, and second is cost of college. Many of our summer staff would be unable to return to school next year without the additional help of our summer staff scholarship program. Each individual on our Summer Staff team gets to choose between three of the following financial benefits.

When Can I Serve?

Session 1

Arrival: May 31, 2026 by 4:00 pm

Departures: June 27, 2026 at 12:00 pm

Sponsored Camps – weeklong camp programs where Ironwood plans and prepares for the week of camp and churches choose to attend the week as long as there is availability. We run 3 sponsored camp programs simultaneously (Junior, Teen, and Horsemanship).

Session 2

Arrival: June 29, 2026 by 10:00 am

Departures: August 8, 2026 at 12:00 pm

Custom Camps – camp programs planned and prepared from by churches with help from Ironwood. The contracted church works through schedule adjustments, activity choices, music, preacher, and other camp topics with an Ironwood coordinator to be ready for their reserved week of camp. The churches are able to invite other churches to join them at Ironwood but are not required to.

Session 1 & 2

Arrival: May 31, 2026 by 4:00 pm

Departures: August 8,2026 at 12:00 pm

Attend both sessions and experience both Sponsored Camps and Custom Camps.
